Hello all, I am new to this forum and just started the process of building my first AR. I am going with a Sabre Defence lower receiver. I have already installed my lower parts kit and the Sabre proprietary two-stage trigger. I am looking for suggestions and tips on what I should be thinking about for my upper . I am thinking flat top M4 style 16 inch chrome lined fluted barrel. Flip up front and rear buis and maybe a surefire M73 Quad rail with light mounted and a forward grip(Eotech to come later). Also, is it worth going with the Les Baer National Match Bolt Carrier? Thanks for any and all replies.

i don't think you will need the Les Baer Carrier.  its nice but i don't think most people can tell the difference.  I have shot thousands of rounds with standard B/C groups.  If you dont' have to have
fluted barrel,  the stag arms upper with the ARMS buis incluced is a great deal @ $495.00 shipped.  Surefire rails are nice so that is not a bad choice.  There are other great rails for less money out there also.

the MIDWEST INDUSTRIES 2pc handguard replacement is a killer deal @ $129.00

Sabre Defense has a nice M4 upper that has a 14.5" barrel with a flash hider perm. attached to bring it to the legal 16" length.  its a complete flatop upper with B/C group included for $425.00 shipped

If you want a 16" upper with a fluted barrel, email me and I will run something by you.  Its a prototype upper i have coming out soon that may fit you fancy.  its stainless steel.

hope this helps
