Take an appropriate sized pin punch and place it in the hollow side of the rivet. Drive the rivet out with a hammer.

Easy enough....

Ideally you'd want to use a vice with barrel blocks. You wouldn't hurt anything though by taking your handgaurds off and laying your upper on a bench. Give the rivet a few taps and it's out, you shouldn't have to beat it out.
