Hello all, I've been visiting this forum for a while but I never registered since I wasn't an AR-15 shooter, yet. I've finally decided to suck it up and buy one. I've read good things on this site about Rock River Arms, and I found this kit... CAR A4 Kit I was wondering if some of you guys could lend me the voice of experience here.... is this a good choice? Thanks in advance!

It's definitely a good brand and there's nothing wrong with that setup.
Just remember you'll need some type of sights or optics to go with it.

That kit is only avalible with the two stage trigger also. I like 2 stage myself but some dont. I love RRA stuff mucho quality in my opinion.

+1 for RRA that kit is a good choice. as stated above you will need at minimum a BUIS. I really like the ARMS 40L

wow, and all this in five minutes.... I'm going to love this site. Also, can anyone tell by looking at it if it's build to post-ban specs or is it ban-free? I'm not to the point where i can tell for sure yet... thanks again!

there is no longer a "ban" but this would match the pre-ban rating. ie having flash hider, bayonet lug and adjustable stock

I used the term "ban-free" because that is how bushmaster referred to their rifles built after the damned thing expired (any one else throw a party that day?) This is all great news, I'm attending a gun show on the 11th, I'll try to get a chance to hold a RRA and see how I like it.... only real problem I have with the kit AR is that it's the standard grip... I like the ergo... I'll call, I can probably get them to switch it out for me.

I hear RRA makes really good stuff but you do know you can get similiar type kits from a few other companies (Model 1 Sales, Del-Ton, M&A, ect) for much less, right?

fivespeedF150,
sounds like a great choice - post pics of the rig and the targets!
