Sarco is advertising in shot gun news a military issue m16 kit minus the lower receiver and the fun parts.

Has anyone purchased one yet? What was the quality like? pics please.

I bought one, can't say I was all too impressed.  I would just order the complete upper assembly and buy the balance of the parts from Adco, Numrich, etc...  It's a decent upper and barrel, but the rest of the parts are a mix of the cheapest components available at the time.  Also, they sent me the M-16 trigger, hammer, disconnector, and selector.  I threw them out two days later and bought the legal parts.

Just my opinion.

I bought the "early Nam" style kit - about a year ago - with the 1-14 early non-chrome bore that alot of  guys in Nam had the trouble with ---  , i paid more for it , and i was happy with it - cept the plastic furnituer was beat up- so i had to buy better stuff  to replace it.

Buying from SARCO is like craps shooting. Most of the time you get the same kind of good stuff/crap combos mentioned above; and every once in a while there's a winner with all new or nearly new pieces.

You're much better off sticking with the guys selling individual assemblies on the EE section of this site.

Here are some pictures of the slab side upper I received from Sarco next to a CDNN A1 original finish upper.  Hope these help.

Also, the Sarco upper had been rebarreled/refinished.  When it was rebarreled, the barrel nut groove wasn't aligned properly, and the gas tube was bent going into the upper.  I doubt this is anything Sarco did, but just thought I'd mention it.
