I am mating my old 20" SP-1 upper to a mil spec lower with small front pin. My question is about the reverse offset pin that I have from Bushmaster, it includes the pin and three offset inserts. Are all three inserts used? Do you need to locktight the inserts into the lower reciever pivot hole? Do you need to istall the front pivot pin detent and spring? This is my first project gun since I have had the upper laying around for years, and the AWB is gone so I can put together a proper looking SP-1!

the only thing i have seen for the large hole upper is the bushing that goes into the uppers front takedown hole.

I hope you didn't buy that Bushmaster peice already. It's like $15 or so? I think it has too many parts you won't need.

All you need is a $5 offset bushing for the upper receiver. DPMS has them, so does Brownell's. Use blue locktite to hold it in place and use the standard pushpin in the lower. I did the same thing with my A2 upper a couple months ago.
