I've got one on my SPR-ish. To align it I made a very small dimple mark on the step-up of the barrel in line with the gas port. I put the sight on and looking down over the gas tube made sure it was aligned with the mark as I tighteded it. Also, the sight is designed to butt up directly against the barrel step. Here's a pic of the rifle with the sight installed..

Is the hole on the gas block a little bit oversize so that you can make minor adjustments in order to align the sights with the rear sight centered?

I installed mine using a similar method as Azrael2004. I used a pencil to mark location, and wiped it off when I was done. Went on pretty quickly & easily.

The only thing I extra I added was some grip compound I had to the lower half of the unit to
inhibit any axial or radial movement of the sight. I got the stuff w/ a band type shotgun sight. Feels just like valve lapping compound found in the plumbing section. Some fine grit suspended in grease is all it is. Keep it away from the gas port, I'm pretty sure it will eat up any moving parts. |

Make sure you use Loc-Tite on the bolts once you get it aligned and in the right spot.
Just index w/ a pencil on the FSB and the barrel so you do not lose alignment. |
