Can you blue stainless steel? Things like some muzzle breaks that are made in SS is supposed to come in black oxide finish...

There are some products out which will give you a similar look, but AFAIK, its not actual "blueing".

My AR-10 in this link was bead blasted and blued:

i dont think stainless steel will take standard cold blueing

you can but you first have to use an acid to "pickle" the metal then use a special blueing compount. Standard salt bluing or the normal chemicals you'd use won't work. It's also alot of trial and error work. Brownells sells the stuff but even if you call them they'l tell you it's a triald and error becasue of different metals.

I sent off this Armalite AR-10 upper to Olympic Arms.  Oly does a "black oxide" on stainless that looks good.  Here are before and after.
