Dad is looking for a good gun to shoot a bunch of coyote with. he likes the SNS AR that i built but doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg on buying one. Who has built an AR for under $550 and purchase ALL their parts off the net? and where? only restrictions on the build would be: 18" to 24" barrel with threaded end. flat top upper thinking i'll probably go with another MAX-15 SNS reciever set again. I don't want to sink time into research if it can't be had for that price. Therefore i turned to the hive for input. |

I just built my dad his first black rifle to his specs. Everything is new from vendors on the EE A2 stock = $70 shipped Complete RRA upper, chrome lined, flat toped, mid length system $419 shipped RRA lower $119 after transfer fee RRA parts kit $62 shipped That's only $670 total without mags and bling Get a DPMS parts kit and save $10. Get a carbine stock and save $35. Get a stag lower and save $10. Skip the name brand upper with chrome lining and I'm sure you could save another $20. That's under $600 for all new parts. If you score some used parts from the EE, you could get it down to $550. |
| Shopping on the EE is the way to go to get your prices down. I built a 20" with a Colt SP1 upper on on a CavArms lower for $480. Bought everything but the bolt carrier group and LPK on the EE. That's including shipping and FFL transfer. Got 3 30rnd mags for $37 too. |

20" AR15 kit $435 Lowers are usually roughly $100. You idea is more than doable with all new parts. |
