[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Newbie headspace question

I am looking at buying a lightly used armalite upper minus the bolt and carrier. If I buy a new bolt and carrier for it does the headspace need to be checked? The upper did come assembled from the factory. Thank you in advance to any help. Twitchy

Just add a bolt carrier assembly and go.

BTW, if anyone offers to "set the headspace" for you for a small fee, pass.

Haha! Yeah no kidding! Thank you to all who replied. I just picked up this eagle arms 20" upper for $200. I am happy it has maybe 200-300 rounds trough it. Now I have to wait to make some more $$$ for the rest of the goodies for it. This habit is hard on my wallet!!!
