I could use some guidance on the use of an action block vs barrel block.

I plan to add a JP Handguard, Gas block and Comp to my RRA.

Looking though the threads it looks like an Action block can be used for the procedure.  So is a barrel block needed if a Action block is available?  I could easily make a barrel block if the work could be done with it or I can borrow an action block.

If someone would give me the skinny on these two I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

Action block is the desired tool if you going to touch the barrel nut. Using a barrel block transfers the nut torque threw the nut, recever exstenion pin, upper socket pin lsot inupper receiver, and back to the barrel (read really easy to cant a barrel during install)

If you going to touch the FS, then the barrel block (read you are not putting any torque back threw the barrel extension/upper recevier socket which may cant the barrel).
