Finish is perfect as far as I can tell. There is a slight paper thin gap between the receivers but zero wobble and the push pins slide freely. Assembly was a breeze. Make sure you read the stickys. Using the vise grip trick to install the roll pins is super easy. The takedown detents are the only thing you need to be really carefull with. I wrapped the receiver in about 50 feeet of electrical tape to protect the finish. Color is a deep matt black and matches the upper well. The Cav receiver is a little different but easier too. The buffer retaining pin is held with a long roll pin. You don't have to install the takedown detents which speeds things along nor do you have to install a stock or buffer tube. (Uses a CAR buffer by the way) The safety detent is dropped in through the top. You have to cut a few coils off the safety spring as per the instructions. You also may need to clip a coil off the bolt catch spring also listed in the instructions. The Cav has an "AR15.COM SEBR XXXX"serial number. The CAV is for when I feel like a superlight rifle and want to turn a few heads at the range. The standard lower is for when I wanna take people shooting with me so I can adjust the stocks length of pull for them. |
