Anyone know where I can buy a fluted M4 type barrel? |
|
Here ya go. Middle of the page. I've got one and its sweet! flutie ETA: Here's what mine looks like |
|
There's not much you can flute on an M4. The section under the handgaurds is too thin, as is the section for the GL cutout. That only leave a couple inches that can be woked with. If you jsut want a fluted carbine barrel then Bushmaster is the best option. Their barrels are very good anyway and they only charge $50 for fluting while most other places charge $100 or more. |
| There are fluted M4 barrels, but I believe thay reverse the contours. IE; the originally thin part is thickened and fluted but the original outward M4 steps remain the same size. Not 100% on that as I only saw it once, but the picture was posted on ArfCom along time ago. |
So more like fins then? I've not seen that. could be pretty sweet. |
No. its not the standard m4 profile. It's also a 16inch barrel. |
No sir. As I have posted after your first responce was that it was not a M4 profile barrel nor did I imply that in my first post. I think we just misunderstood each other. Under the handguards looks like a flutted bull barrel. |

www.gunsmokeenterprises.net/BARRLES%202.htm As stated above. Ameetec sells fluted M4's too. Edit to add: I plan on getting a fluted M4 barrel, they just look so badass! |
Its funny you mention that. Taking an already light weight/ M4 barrel and adding fluting looks horrid IMHO, but I guess that is the beauty of AR15s, there is something for everyone. |
