| I have a friend that owns a machine shop. How much help can he give me finishing a receiver? Can he let me use his shop? Can he rent me his shop? Can he help me do the work? How much help can he give me machining a receiver from scratch? |

He can help all he (you) want or needs to as long as you are not paying him to finish the receiver for you. You could rent his shop and or even pay him for machining lessons (Im not suggesting using this to skirt the law). You would be best if he helped you set up and then let you do all of the chip makeing. Cutting metal is easy its the "setup" that makes the work right. Haveing someone handy with setups will be huge asset, everything else is just math and chips. |

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH NevadaARshooter, Shoot-N-Scoot ********************************************************************** He can do it all if you want him to as long as you are there 'directing' the work at all times.... but the point of doing this for most of us is the enjoyment and satisfaction of doing it ourselves. THEN HE BECOMES THE MFG WE ( MOST OF US 80% BUILDERS AND OF www.homegunsmith.com JUST ENJOY THE PURE SATISFACTION OF DOING IT ALL YOUR SELF, WE HELP EACH OTHER OUT WITH MACHINEING QUESTIONS AND THE INS AND OUTS OF HOME GUNSMITHING WILLAIM |
