I recently installed the JP Enterprise Trigger fire control system with low mass hammer.  Very nice setup but takes some time to get everything setup properly.  Now that it is in, I am getting, what I think, is a nice trigger pull, release, etc.  I would like to get some feedback from other users (doesn't have to be JP) on what they feel is an acceptable trigger pull weight, amount of overtravel, etc.  Right now, I am getting a slight amount (very little) creep in the initial stages but it releases nice and clean.  I don't want to keep adjusting the trigger setup down to the hair where I have an unsafe weapon and also premature trigger wear.  By the way, JP advertises 3-4 lb trigger pull.  I don't have a trigger pull tester but I feel that my setup is in that range.

I plan on using my rifle in 3-gun matches and self defense applications.

4 pounds is the lightest I would go.  You need a bit more overtravel in a defensive gun so it doesn't lock up on you in dirty conditions or even cold weather.
