[ARCHIVED THREAD] - New AR15 Project

Hi,
I have been lurking here for a while. I am picking up a Rock River Lower Receiver (complete) from Pete at Legal transfers on Friday. I'm thinking I will go with a 20" barrel and a flat top upper with a detachable A2 style handle.

Any advice or thoughts about this project are greatly appreciated.

i would go stripped lower and put it together yourself.

Well, being that you already bought the lower, I'll give you a little inspiration.

Everything on it is RRA(except the sling) and I couldn't be happier.

I went back and forth about which way to go on that. But I told the man I would buy the complete lower from him.

Well I got my new lower receiver today and and an A2 butt stock. I got the butt stock installed so now all I need is some more money for the upper...

I am looking at the 20" pre ban flat top barrel assembly from Del-Ton (DT1013). I will also want a detachable carry handle. If I buy the handle from another source, how likely is a good color match?

Woo Hoo - I ordered my upper and barrel from Del-ton today!!I ordered the flat top upper with a detachable CH and a 20" barrel. Now the waiting begins.

Man, I'm lik a kid waiting for Christmas. According to the UPS tracking, it won't get here until Monday. grrr another week before I can fire it.
