you know thats what i thought but didnt know if i needed to check. i did have one bobble at about round 5 it only partially ejected a case and jammed the next one in next to it. but that was the only bobble, it may have just been a new gun thing . it ran just fine after that.

If it's a flattop, I just lay a straight edge across the upper and gas block and twist until they're aligned.  I've had pretty good luck using this method.  For A2 uppers, I just eyeball it.

The best way I've found to align them is to attach front and rear iron sights that provide a on-moving flat section.  That means a front sight with normal protective ears and not a round profile like the PRI and a rear sight that is solid like the Larue, not rounded like a KAC or MAD.  Attach the sights and lay the rifle upside down on a flat surface supported by the sights.

You still have to get the front-rear alignment correct but atleast this keeps it all level.
