I just bought a DPMS lower and parts kit at local gun show (got ripped for about $20 because I did not know about this forum) . It went together great thanks to the forum. I am impressed with the quality and fit. now I am looking for an upper. I have to shoot with a scope due to age and eyehinking.gifsight. (Even the best plastic eye balls you can buy only focus down to 4'.) The question is will a A3 flat top take weaver rings? The only ads that I have seen that state that they will take weaver rings is the high rise flat tops. I could use a bit of help. Thanks westex P.S. Diamondbacks make great guard dogs. |
| The A3 should be able to take weaver rings without problem. I'd suggest these 134-204LM QD AR15 Rings Matte by warne tactical, they are a bit pricey but well worth it. Trying to get the scope up to eye level it usually more than a regular set of high rings can do, BTW. |

Thanks What realy started me on the A3 was I purchased a Tasco NV scope with an intergal weaver mount that I could not fit to my mini-14 ranch (now for sale) and I opted to go with the AR. From all I have seen here the AR can be much better rifle. Thanks again westex |
| I actually built my first black rifle in the late seventies when the first cast lowers come out. PC’s did not exist let alone the internet so there was no peer help. It was built with surplus M-16 parts. AW was not in the dictionary then and a lot of the parts looked like they were from a blacksmith shop. My first time out the disconnector broke and I empted a 20 rounder before you could say aw-shit. I got all that working but it would not hit a basket ball at 100 yds. I was not impressed and got rid of it. Now my interest is back. The quality and options are great. I am looking forward to dispatching a few coyotes with it. |
