     1)   I'm putting a Samson rail on this 16" mid length upper. What gas block do I need to match the rail and use my flip up front sight ?

     2)   Is this a common size for the BBL under the gas block ?

     3)   Will this gas tube work with the new gas block I need, or do I need another type ? If so, which one ?

          Thank's in advance,

                                         Steve

I'm not so sure there is a railed gas block that sits high enough to mount a sight designed for FF tubes.  Tagged to see if there is.

Yeah Mongo, when I ordered the 9" Samson,  I assumed that I'd have a continuous rail all the way across.  If I'd have known that I'd have ordered the 12" and a low profile block.

Nobody's fault but my own. I'm still on the "learning curve" ............

Does it look like I'm going to end up with something like this :

You could go with a low profile gas block, like the PRI, SPR, LaRue or even a KAC if you can find one.  ADCO sells the first two.  Link

About 1/2 way down on the left you will see the PRI Steel gas block for $53.33.  You could use your 9.0 rail system with the Troy front BUIS.  It's a clean look, sort of SPRish.

This option is much cheaper than the complete PRI flip sight.

Good luck.

I tend to agree with Mongo001 on this. Use a low profile block, the 9" rail and your Troy front sight. Would be a nice look.

You'll essentially end up with the same muzzle look as the Mod 1 SPR, sans the uber cool muzzle brake setup, of course.
