Like it says, the selector detent is stuck in the hole.  There was some resistance when I put the detent in (it did not just drop in) now the detent is stuck and the selector does not function properly.  ...I need to get it out, any suggestions?

The detent pin/divot interface should work with or without a spring shouldn't it?

How much oomf did you use to rotate the selector?

A small allen wrench inserted from the top pushing down on the detent might work.

Depends on how hard you stuck the little bugger in there.

try and get it out with a paper clip and then clean out any burrs that could be in the hole with a drill bit of the same size of the hole

Hi

I had the exact problem. The pin must move freely, I made the mistake of tapping it in gently. When I rotated the selector switch the detent pin did not work properley.

I rotated the selector so it was between safe and semi so the detent was not in the extra deep recess. Then I used a punch and forced the selector switch out. That exposes the detent pin and I used another smaller punch to push the detent pin out. THen I drilled the hole  to clean up the goo causing the detent pin to stick.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone, I did just what  gcollector2002 said and got the sucker out, it looks like the hole wasn't drilled correctly, there appears to be a "step" in the hole, like a small hole was drilled first then followed by the larger, except the larger doesn't go all the way through.  ...anyway, I got it fixed and made my own detent.  ...works great now.   btw, this is a RRA lower.

I had the same problem a while back on my RRA lower.  I ended up having  to tap the selector switch out, and then tapping the selector detent out.  It was stuck in there good.  I replaced the detent with a DPMS part, and all is well, which leads me to believe it was my detent that was the problem.
