Hi,
I'm new to the AR15 realm and was wondering if building from a kit would be considered wrong or even not be considered a true build? You'll probably see some more stupid questions in the future from me so thanks in advance for your patience.

Not at all. Get yourself  quality lower receiver and a complet kit in your favorit flavour and put her togerther. Its a great way to start out since you will have an intimate working knowledge of the goings on without haveing to worry about such safty issues as headspaceing the barrel in the upper receiver.

Go for it.

Certainly get a quality lower.

I consider kits to be quite nice and I really enjoy building up from a stripped lower.

It may not have the resale value of a complete rifle from the manufacturer but it will be more valuable to you if you build it.

Good luck.

My very first AR was a kit from M&A parts and a stripped Oly lower. I did it last January (2004) at 17 years old. You can probably figure it out. Besides, if you screw something up, come on here and ask for help. With almost 70,000 members on this site, someone's bound to know how to help ya out

resale schmale. I just think it would be fun to do. I think it would be like selling one of my kids. Then maybe start from some stripped ones as I learn more and more. Thanks much!

You have the green light for building with the kit

Post the pictures once you are done and provide a range report.

For a lower consider a Stag, they are made by the same people that make Rock River Arm's lowers.

You can find them at www.eaglefirearms.net for $85. I also saw some in the equipment exchange for $89 shipped.

Have fun and build on...
