| I have seen several companies selling barrel extensions. I am building a new AR with M4 profile barrel. Is this a part that I will need? I have been using the tips on how to assemble an AR that were tacked, but don't see anything about a barrel extension...Thanks |

If you boght the barrel after-market or from one of the ABC companies, you should be fine. You would only need the barrel extension if you were turning your own barrel. If you look all the way to the left of this pic, you will see the barrel extension (under the barrel nut). This is where the bolt locks up.
