I was just advised that my CMMG barrel has been back ordered until March...I have to qualify next week with my SO.   What type of quality are the Model 1  M4 Chrome Linned 16" barrels?  Thanks, Allison

I would just try to see if you can hook up with one of your hometown ARFCOMers and borrow one.  If you have to qualify in a week (best case scenerio, next friday, which gives you around 10 days) and you don't have the barrel in hand right now, you're pretty much SOL.  Even if you had the barrel, it still takes time to assemble, test, troubleshoot, sight in, etc.

GS-

You can't use someone elses equipment for a PD qual.  Its got to be your weapon.

Allison-

You might want to call around to different vendors and see what they have in stock.  Another option may be to go with a SS barrel.

 Oddly enough  www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=223454

I only asked about the lightweight barrels from J&T, you could inquire if they have the standard(?) or HBAR chromelined on hand.

Model 1 replied to me this afternoon that they did have them on hand.  I think they ship from Whitewright, TX now and not Ill.
