Well I got my 7.5 pistol kit from model 1 today, looks pretty good but it was missing the charge handle, bolt carrier, and bolt. Here is a picture of the buffer that they included, not sure if it is new style or not but the spring seems pretty heavy, hopefully someone will be able to tell if they changed them

Right click , view image .....looks like a CAR tube ,buffer and recoil spring -JUST exactly like in a rifle !!
As a side note the tube looks to be modified a bit , but still a CAR set up .

yeah.. I'm not impressed at all.  They made it sound like something out of this world.  ACE has had that same thing available for quite awhile now...... that has sealed it for me, I will NEVER deal with M1S again.  I can't believe the guy didn't want to tell me the design of the tube, saying it was "like nothing you've seen before".   hmmm maybe nothing like i've seen before on their website (and still don't) but come on.... Well anywhoooooooooo it should work 100% that's a plus.  But everyone who has an ar pistol probably already knew about the car buffer

Under where you post reply is a box with "URL"  , it will ask you an alternate title and then for the URL . I've found it easiest to erase the preset http and replace the URL completely. PS rather than reposting --try the edit box .

BUT, what holds in the take down spring and detent!?  In the assembled pic, you can see the plate, but it's not in the pic of the tube/buff/spring.  Is it just a plate from a CAR stock?????  IF it is, it would mean the buffer retainer IS not engaging the buffer tube....

(Hate tripod.....)

Yeah I forgot to put it in the picture, its just a standard CAR plate, nothing fancy!

Ah... So they took a CAR length tube (from an entry stock), modifed a CAR plate and sandwiched it in there.  So I take it the tube does not go in far enough to engage the buffer retainer?  Or does it?

Edit-
Forgot to ask.... does the buffer tube end have a hole in it for a stock screw????  If it does, we all know what they did... if not, then they drilled it out or had some made that are not threaded.

The tube does go in far enough to engage the buffer retainer and there is not a screw in it for a stock so they must have had them made just for the pistol. The buffer tube is a little longer than I hoped it would be but I took it to the range today and it worked perferct! 200 rounds not one jam so I guess I can't bitch!

How long is it?  7 inches or so. (the buffer tube that is)
