I am new to ARs so bear with me. Armalite upper and DPMS lower with rock river lower kit standard trigger. I have only had a couple of months now. I did the 15 min trigger job and it did improve the trigger greatly but there is alot of creep(I assume that this is the distance of travel from engagement to firing) and it doesn't feel very smooth. I am not a pro but I was pretty intent on doing it right and lubricating is when I was done. I have a Steyr pro in 7 mag with a nice trigger job done by a my gunsmith, about a 3 lb pull with no creep and very smooth. After shooting the two side by side I now know how bad the AR trigger is. I take up all of the slack, hold and then squeeze off the shot. I am sure that i should, and probably will, buy a one or two stage trigger but I wanted to see if there is anything else I could do to help this one. any ideas |

Other than a JP Spring kit and some hand stoning, not much. I did the 15min trigger and some hand stoning on my trigger and it's 100x's better than stock, but nowhere near a tuned bolt gun. Once you start tinkering to remove takeup and overtravel you are getting into more work than it's worth. I was looking at it, but I don't want to get to the point that the trigger is unsafe, and I can't justify the time when a RRA 2-stage is only $70 or so. |

I can highly recommend the JP Trigger and Speed Hammer. This is adjustable for sear engagement and overtravel. www.jprifles.com On the left click Rifles, click Trigger Parts. |
