Just beginning my first build out of a stripped lower – mag catch/release and bolt release both in without a hitch (add me to the thousands grateful to FALARAK for his post) – but before I do FCG, I have a couple questions: 1. The parts kit is from RRA and the larger parts all coated with some substance that’s actually kind of waxy/sticky. My impulse is to clean them off with some Hoppes No. 9 and then use a little bit of moly grease anywhere parts bear on each other or the receiver. Sound right? 2. The FCG parts are all separated. Does someone have a good picture of how the respective large springs attach to the trigger and the disconnector? I cold just dissamble my Bushie, but I'd kind of rather not. 3. I THINK I used the right spring for the bolt release, but to tell the truth the little coil spring that goes on the top of the trigger group looks a lot like the little coil spring that goes under the bolt release plunger. Any easy way to tell if the spring I’ve got left is the right one for the FCG or not? If not I’ve got a couple other full spring kits, so I don’t have to disassemble the bolt release – which seems to work fine. A clue on how to distinuish them would be nice. Thanks for the great attitude that all the more experienced builders here. I am old to guns, but new to building and I’m grateful for all the advice. |
| This link is in the Falarak post but you might miss it if you don't follow his links. It has a picture of all the parts laid out and easy for you to compare them so you put the right part in the right place, including the FCG. |
