I am in the process of building a new AR and one of the things I am not sure of is which hand grip I should use. I really do not care for the standard A2 grip and I have been thinking about using either the Houge Overmold or the First Samco G-27 Tactical Grip. I am building a carbine with a RRA collapsable stock so not real sure how the  First Samco G-27 Tactical Grip will work. Anyone have any experience with either of these

I got the Tango Down Battle Grip since I hate "finger grooves" and the spike on the regular A2 grip.

My vote goes for the Magpul MIAD grip, even though it isn't on your list. The interchangeable panels allow you to customize the grip to your liking. Give it it a look.

I like Hogue, but was thinking about trying a TD.

I really had not considered any other grips as I have not seen to many of them. i am totally open to a comfortable grip, that is kind of why I like the First Samco because of the back strap that molds into the lower. Thanks for all the great replies as I am already looking up the others.

For years I thought aftermarket grips were a gimmick, until I got one on a rifle in a trade.  The First Samco G-27 is made like it came from a direct mold of MY hand.  It also moves the hand rearward, making the trigger purchase much more to the liking of my big-handed self.  Do I like it?  I just ordered, received, and installed five more of them.  I don't jump on the bandwagon for gimmicks, this makes it easier for me to control the trigger.

The Magpul looks like, for just a grip, it has more parts than an entire Glock.

Another option that I never see mentioned is the Ergo Grip from Falcon. The Sure Grip version has the rubbery feel of a Hogue but the shape of the HK style grips w/ the extended webbing support.

I'll also have to heartily recommend Hogue, I have purchased one immediately for nearly every handgun I've owned and also my AR.

If you've got small hands, go with the Hogue. If you've got large hands, the additional length of the HK style grips will give a better finger position on the trigger, and the Ergo Sure Grip mentioned above has a similar rubber feel to the Hogue.

The G27 does feel like it was molded for your hand. I really liked mine but have since switched to an SPR grip that I had on my last AR and bought another one. Only drawback is it isn't ambidexterous like the G27.

I like the Hogue over the A2 hands down. But I've never tried any other grip.

Well, after looking at an Ergo Grip at TTI in Va I decided to buy one. It seems to fit my AR and my hand good and sure is a hell of alot more comfy than the standard A2 Grip. Also got great service from the people at TTI. Threaded Barrel and installed FH for 35 and it does not require a peel shim or a crush washer. 100% excelent work and personalities.

The Ergo grips are nice, my close second favorite to the G27.  Like the G27 best, since the plug locks into the grip.  Expect to lose the plug on the Ergo grip in the first outing, unless you secure it with something.  Try some electrical tape around the ridges of the plug, or a small round of bicycle inner tube.
