I have a RRA upper with a permanently attached break. It is not pinned, so I assume it is attached with some sort of solder or something?..... So, do I need to just head the damn thing up until it melts again and then quickly unscrew it? .....I'm just assuming.

there are several ways it could be attached, all the RRA brakes I see on their site are pinned and welded. I remove those with a lathe, others have taken their chances with brother Dremel. ETA, JLM was kind enough to supply these links. www.jobrelatedstuff.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=211802 www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=130&t=144096 |

Of course I did! |
| if I'm reading RRA's page correctly all of those are pinned and welded to meet the no threads req. sometimes you can locate the head of the pin then cut through the weld around it. if the pin is not loose enough to fall out you can cut the pin out of the hole or cut a notch in the end of the blind hole and push the pin out. |
