Just tested my newly home built AR and after the first shot the disconnector doesn't release the hammer.  It only happens when i hold the trigger back after each shot, then the only way to get the hammer to release is to switch the selector  to safe and back to semi.  I shot 120 rounds and about 35% of the time it worked correctly.  Any help would be great!

The trigger spring or disco spring is in the wrong way,

The trigger has a bur at the start of the pin hole,

You didn't lube the  FCG parts before install,

Or the disco/ hammer hook has a bur that needs to be stoned down.

I agree with the above reply.  The one quoted is what i had on my hammer.  I got home from the range with a numb thumb from flipping the selector switch after almost every shot on!  I noticed there was a bit of a bur on the hammer which would catch on the disconnector.  So when I got home I tried a file or two and that just didnt to the trick.  A dremel and a sanding disk cleaned it up and allowed my hammer to clear the disconnector properly.  I just tested it this last weekened and everything worked like a charm.  Give it a good look over and see whats causing your problem.  Be patient, I pulled the FCG out several times myself, as it was my first build and thought I messed something up or read a step wrong somewhere.

good luck!
