Could someone explain the diffence between investment cast & cast receivers

Cast = Investment Cast. Same thing (there may be some minor metallurgical differences, but for all practical purposes those are equivalent terms).

Do you mean the difference between Cast and Forged? A whole different matter.

Investment casting is a more precise and generally higher quality casting process than the older sand casting process.  The aluminum is injected into the mold under higher pressure than with the sand process.  Investment casting requires " hard" female tooling as opposed to a male mold for the sand process.  An investment cast part will frequently require little final machining and will have a much finer finish on the as cast surface.
