i'm wanting to put a rock river upper on a DPMS lower i'm ordering tomorrow.  i've heard that RRA makes their uppers a tight fit.  will i have any problems assembling this combination?

You shouldn't have any problems with them fitting together.

i had a RRA 9mm upper on a DPMS lower and the fit was perfect.  color match was great as well.

thanks.  that makes me feel better.  like i said i'm ordering the lowert tomorrow.  gotta sell a guitar to get my upper though.

no!!!!!!!!  i sold a 4x12 guitar cabinet a few months ago to fund a pistol, boy i wish i hadn't done that!

King, most of the time the problem is with the RRA lower, not the upper.  The lowers are made to tighter tolerances.  They will still work, you just need a little oil and patience.

You should have no problem with the DPMS lower.  You are getting a forged one I hope?  DPMS sells both.  Stay away from the cast lower..!!!

I did the reverse of what you're planning---RRA lower/DPMS upper------I had to slightly file the rear lug on the upper-----now she is very smooth----locks up very tight without forcing anything.

The fit is better than ANY factory Bushmaster or Colt I've ever bought before.

My first build and definitely my favorite AR of all those that I own/owned.
