Hey all. First off i'm new around here. Decided to take on the challenge of building my own AR-15. Honestly i don't think it will be that hard... i'm relatively good with my hands and a set of tools. My question's this:

Does anyone have any good informative sights on how to build the AR-15?

When building a rifle from the ground up... can we use the collabsible stocks or do they need to be fixed length for post-ban?

A friend directed me to the AGI video titled "Build the AR-15." ANyone have any experience with it? Look forward to taking part in discussions around here and hopefully learning some new things. Have a safe holiday.

B-O-A-T-S,

Welcome aboard and here is all of the help you will probably need:

AR15.com Guides

AR15.com Build Your Own Upper

AR15.com Guide: Build Your Own Lower

And the Equipment Exchange is a great place to pick up new/used parts at good prices.

If you have any trouble, just post here and these guys will be glad to help you out. Welcome to an undeniable addiction. Your wife probably won't like it, your wallet will always be empty, and you'll be on a perpetual quest for the next "gotta have" AR15 item.

Hope this helps!

You can't have a collapsible stock and a pistol grip on a postban AR15 before Sept 13, end of story. Just get a cheap beater stock and wait till sept.

I don't know how your schedule is or when you plan to have this completed but you could always assemble the rifle and remove the gas tube. This makes it not semiautomatic (technically its a straight pull bolt-action in this configuration), and therefore not affected by the ban. This will allow you to take pictures of your complete rifle and post them here before the ban ends . However, if you want to shoot it semi-auto you will need a fixed buttstock.

You will not be dissapointed with Rock River Arms. Check Adco
