Ok I want to get a first build going this summer as soon as I get enough money saved which this anxiety is gonna kill me because I really want to get it going. I was wanting to know if all I need for my first build is a stripped lower reciever from someone and a kit from say model 1 sales. Is there anything else I would need to go along with these 2 items for my first build minus the necessary tools for the project. Thanks in advanced and cant wait to start this project with everyones help.

The first things I bought before I started my build where a book and video out of Brownells, The book is by Duncan Long and it is called "Build your own AR" and the video is from AGI entitled the "AR15". I am glad I did this becuase they gave me the confidence and knowledge to under take a potientially costly project. Bushmaster also has an instructional video along with manuals.

As far as specialized tools" If your buying a complete upper you will not need any tools outside of a few roll pin punches (available through brownells, bushmaster, etc.) Your local hardware store has everything you need. Oh and a hammer.

Just research the hell out of it and you will have no problems. It is very easy to assemble a lower. Its easy to build the whole gun with a little know how and determination. I have NO gunsmithing or machineing skills and mine went together with out a problem.

The best advise I can give you is to take your time find the right parts for you at a good comparitive price. Most of all don't be afraid to ask any questions here. I learned a lot from the guys on here.

Good luck and be patient grasshopper,
