Just browsing around at colt lowers thinking of grabbing up one now and waiting for the ban to die out. Is it all the colts or certain ones I need to look out for with the different sized pins? |

The odd pin sizes on the Colts are the front pivot pin and the trigger & hammer pins. My Colt lower has standard size pivot pin, but a double-ended screw instead of the push-pin and no hole for installing the detent for a regular pin. I've heard reports that newer ones at least have the hole drilled, and might even come with a regular pin now. Older Colts have a large pivot pin, but you can get adapters to put on regular size uppers. I think mine had the bigger trigger pins, but I haven't measured to be sure. AFAIK they're still using the big pins on new lowers. Not all of the match triggers are available for the bigger pins, but most are so I wouldn't worry too much about it. |
