This is my first lower build. I am using a Eagle lower and Model 1 parts. It all went together smooth except the selector switch is sticking out too">

Are you sure the detent is catching in the right place?  Pull it and check you selector lever/ safety and see what it looks like.  Ensure the groove is there.  Have you pulled  the pistol grip, pushed it in, and reinstalled the grip?

Good pic, it makes it much easier to see what you mean.

Take the pistol grip off and measure the location of the detent hole.  Compare it to the blue print.

If that is ok, take the selector off you other rifle and compare to this new one.

However, that pic seems ok... better than having the selector wear on the exterior surface of the forging.

Either the groove in the selector is out or the hole the selector detent rides in is out. The hole should be dead center at six oclock. Possibility that the lower is thinner but that is an easy check.

Thanks for the help guys.  I took it apart again and checked the detent hole.  It is exactly 6'oclock centered.  Looked at the groove the detent rides in and you could see that the detent had scratched in the groove.  I guess that the selector groove being out of spec is the problem.
