I have a bushy ar15, an m4a3 with a sir system. would like to replace the front sight post with a fold down variety. 1st, would you recommend a dovetail block and then a quick detach flip sight, I have no plans on removing it once its on. or a replacement gas block with flip up sight built in. 2nd, on installation, is it better to get a "clamp on type", or a set screw type, as I have not found a flip down set up yet that will directly line up with the pins that are currently cut for my barrel. any help would be appreciated. |

I'm doing the same thing with my bushy m4a3 except I'm sending the whole upper back to them and having them put a milled front sight base/gas block on for me because they don't sell them individualy. Then I'm going to throw one of these on. BMAS flip sight |
| well I cut down my carry handle sights with a dremel and then refinished them, and they look as good as the backup sight that lmt makes,,,, in fact when I get my 2 arms 40 rear flips I am selling the other two cutdowns I have,,,and lmt wants 119 for theirs, I will sell mine for 45 shipped,,,lmao |
| If you aren't going to remove the sight (or even if you are), I would recommend the PRI slip with clamp screws (the current design). Goes on easy, superior sight picture, made of steel. You can try and find an older type that uses some small cuts on the barrel, but then you would have to have those cuts made. |
