In the process of upgrading my lower, I've purchased a Hogue overmolded pistol grip. After installation, the selector doesn't function quite as smoothly as it did with the stock grip. Therefore I don't know whether to drill the selector spring recess in the grip or to cut the selector spring a bit. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Jerry

The lower is RRA everything, and works great except for this.

I'd check the depth of the hole in the old grip and compare it to the Hogue and go from there. Springs are cheaper than Hogue grips for sure. If you cut the spring just go a small amount and retry.

Is the lever of the selector dragging on the outside of the replacement grip?

No

I've drilled out the hole to match at it's a bit less "gritty" than it was but not butter smooth. It seems the angle of the hole doesn't exactly match the stock grip. ie The spring doesn't go in straight

Try a little grease in the groove in the selector body that the detent rides in.
