So I'm interested in getting a couple EA lowers shipped to me.  One local FFL quoted me $40 for both, or $40 for one.... said he can do two on the same form.

Is that reasonable?  For $25 in gas and 6 hours of driving, I could drive to Quantico to pick up the lowers in person.

What do you pay for FFL transfers?

I pay $20 which I think is a good price. I once had an FFL that would do it for $10 but I always gave him $20 anyway. $10 is too cheap and anything over $25 is too much. Most gunshops that I know charge $75 which is price gouging.

$25 is the on going price at most dealers.  I found a dealer does it for me for $15.  As far as I know, no one in Utah can beat that price.

I get mine done for $15.00 but hes a friend. Anything over $25.00 is a rip off in my books. All they do is recieve the item and do 3-5 minutes worth of paperwork. Hell with the guy Go ahead and drive over and buy it direct if he wants $40.00.

As the others have said, $25 is about it.  I can't believe some guys charge more.

Anyway, where in VA are you located?  I work for Quantico Arms and we will be attending the gunshow in Salem this coming weekend.  We'll have lowers with us, so you could stop by the show and pick them up if that is closer to home for you.

Of course I think the 3 hour drive would be worth it just to check out the shop.  Either way, we're happy to sell lowers.

Actually.... I'm in Lynchburg.  The gun show is about an hour away.  I'll have to see if I can scrape together the cash this by this weekend.  If I can, I'll definatly be there.  Be sure to bring a bunch of them, cause I want at least two.

Are you sure it's Salem?  Or are you at the Roanoke Valley Gun Show at the Roanoke Civic Center?

Just checked the schedule, it is Salem.  Either way, it is a long drive.  Hope to see you there.

The local places in the Phoenix area charge $25-$35 per item.  With shipping fees and FFL fees, it cost me the same if I buy lowers locally.

The wonderful people here in Yakima Wa, charge flat $30 bucks then 10% + sales tax. isnt that a joke. thank god there is more than just that place to get stuff shipped too. After shopping around a little 20-25 was at norm and i also found a place that would do it for 10. Hunter121

My dealer charges $25 for "unknown" customers, but for good customers who do business with him on a regular basis and not just when they need a gun transferred, he only charges $10.

I too once got charged $75 by a local gunshop from whom I used to buy from regularly and even though I don't buy anything from them anymore I still visit the high priced gunshops regularly in order to preview and handle firearms that I am thinking about ordering via mail order or online. When I am done looking and handling their guns I then tell them that I can get it for hundreds of dollars cheaper including FFL and shipping. I've already been 86'd from one gunshop and I gotta say it felt good.

Check out this web page, enter your zip and find an FFL that's close and reasonable for price.

Many dealer's info from that database on Gunbroker.com is out of date.  They would say $10 or $15 then you call up the dealer then they tells you $25 OR $30.

I pay $10 and try to patronized the dealer as much as possible. Especially RRA stuff, he has great deals.
