I KNOW THIS IS OFF THE AR TOPIC BUT I'VE LEARNED A LOT SINCE I BOUGHT MY ARMALITE AND I NEED SOME HELP FROM PEOPLE THAT KNOW. IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH PUTTING A FOLDING PARATROOPER STOCK ON A OLD NON-PARATROOPER M1 CARBINE. I WOULDN'T THINK SO BUT I WANT TO BE SURE BEFORE I BUY. THOSE THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE. THANKS FOR THE INFO.

If you are asking is it legal, I believe that shouldn't be a problem.  If you have a new Springfield armory M1, then you can't have the stock with a flash suppressor on the rifle, assuming you have a removable mag.  DOn't know if that was your question, but hope it was.

Edited to say that after re-reading your post, you clearly state that it is an old gun.  My mistake.

AW ban may prohibit this as two "evil features" (folding stock and pistol grip) unless your M1 was configured as an AW prior to 1994... of course, it would be difficult for a prosecutor to prove that such an old weapon had NEVER been so configured, so you're probably OK.
