I invite comment on CAV ARMS' glass-filled-plastic rcvr's.

Thank you.

My opinions...may not amount to much.

I haven't personally owned one but from what I seen you can't select the grip you want, can't change the stock, I don't like the grip thats designed on it. Cheap looking.

On the plus side...comes in a lot of cool colors.

Yes, the stock and pistol grip is part of the "lower".  You can't change it, fine.  Some don't like that, others don't care.

If I recall, some of the staff of Cav Arms said at one point, that the Cav-15 is NOT an AR.  The Cav 15 is a Cav 15, not an AR, but AR part compatible (if I recall what they said).  I say, if you want a light weight lower, but able to put your choice of pistol grip and/or butt stock, get the Vulcan Arms Carbon Amide lower.

I am probobly biased.  I got into "AR" type weopons with the Cavalry Arms Cav 15.  I like the longer butt stock and I don't mind the pistol grip.  I also have standard aluminum "conventional" lowers.  The kit pistol grip doesn't agree with me, but it works.  But that is me.  I have more then one Cav 15 and I know I'll be getting at least one more.... (newly redesigned model...has more mag options).

Look at the Carbon 15 (now by Bushmaster).  It is AR like.  And now it is AR parts compatible (unlike before when under Professional Ordance.)  There are lots of options out there.  What might be one person's cup of tea may not be another person's cup of tea... To each his/her own...
