When I'm trying to remove my post-ban fake collapsible stock, should I be twisting the actual buffer tube, or the nut on the end of it that sits up against the receiver? Also, I'm thinking about getting an ACE stock, and was wondering what the overall lenth has to be? I seem to remember it being 26 inches. I see that they have post-ban stocks as short as 7.25 inches, which is quite a bit shorter than my current stock. Thanks for the help.

the nut on the end of it that sits up against the receiver.  don't twist the tube, you'll mess up the threads on the buffer tube.
you need a telestock wrench which is easy to find and under $10.

Thanks, Inferno. It's not coming off without a fight, though. Does anyone know the overall length requirement?
