| I have considered putting a free float tube AR style handguard on my carbon fiber rifle. Has anyone removed the factory barrel nut? Is it the same threads? It is easy to remove? |
| Sorry, no way. The barrel nut on the carbon weapon is much larger than the mil-spec unit, the threads are different also, and the nut itself is aluminum, with a odd size pin wrench requirement, you may get it off with some ingenuity, but I don't see how you would attach a free floating tube. |
