It has dawned on me recently that I, for around $150 can build another AR15 with the additional parts I already have. I converted my PRE-BAN AR into a Carbine. I've got the original 20" Match HBAR upper for my Colt AR15. I've also got the buttstock assembly. Question is, If I buy a receiver from Bushmaster will it work with the different sized takedown pins of the Colt? If not does anybody know where I can buy an original Colt receiver? Thanks, COZ Edited to add: Now I am thinking this may not be legal? My upper came from a preban rifle so it has the Flash Suppressor. If I build a regular 20 AR15 (no Bayonet Lug) would it be legal. If not, DAMMMMMMMMIT! @$#%*&%$#@^%$!!!! |

Well CRAP, Looks like I cant do it. Unless I would get a barrel without the flash suppressor. I sure hope this stupid law sunsets this fall. What the fuck is the difference between a Flash Suppressor and a muzzle brake? (Dont answer, just venting!) COZ Edited to fix Rimfires mistake![lol] just kidding, didn't notice that until you so graciously pointed it out![:D] I may buy a receiver later this year if I looks like the AWB wont renew then I'll be able to build another AR! YEAHHHHHHH! |
| I've never seen a muzzle 'break', so can't compare that to a flash supressor. Get buggered up a little, maybe, but not completely 'break'. My SWAG is that it would really screw up the rifle, probably have to cut off the 'broken' part and recrown it. (Don't answer, just venting about the difference in 'break' and 'BRAKE' (the critter found on the end of some barrels) |
