I have a barrel that has an O.D. of .750". at the front sight location.  The gas block I bought from DPMS has an I.D. of .747".  From what I've read, the gas block/front sight should be a slip fit onto the barrel.  This puppy acts like I'm going to need to beat it into place.  Will doing this hurt the barrel or the gas block?

Horn/ream the block to open it up to .751-3.

This will allow you to remove the block in the future.
