Having assembled a couple of lower recievers,I am beginning to notice differences in parts.
I have two different hammers in front of me right now. Quite different indeed.
One has a double wide area for the disconnecter and the other has the hammer face notched out at the top.
which is which?

The one with the notch is a political correct model to reduce possibility of fullauto from the disconnector not holding hammer down.

I dont know about the other one.  Maybe it is used for the three shot burst in an M-16 A2.

D348, thanks. I did some comparing and am comfortable now that i know.
This notched hammer gives me a much better trigger than the other one too.
