I'm trying to remove the front sight from a bushmaster m4 barrel so I can replace it with a PRI sight. I tried using a punch and hammer, but the pins were not budging. Is there I trick I don't know about or some helpful hints you guys could share.
Thanks!

I am not trying to insult you, but somebody is gona ask, you do know that Bushy uses tapered pins for the front sight and that they will only go one way? Tap on the small end. Also soak it down with penatrateing oil and let it soak. Some pins come right out other are a bear.
good luck

The front sight pins are tapered. You need to rest the barrel against something solid.(wrap it with a towel or cloth so not to mar the finish) The pins should come out on the discharge side(ejection port side) of the weapon. Take notice to the pins one side is fatter than the other. Use a hammer with some weight(12oz - 1 lb.) to it , not some little sissy hammer. Don't be afraid to real hit them . Just make sure the weapon is properly supported . Hope this helps . Good Luck
