Please accept my apologies if this has been re-hashed to death in the past. However, I did take a moment and try a few searchs to no avail. If one were to carefully mask out internals, is it possible to powdercoat stripped lower/upper receivers? My fiance has been dreaming of a purple AR ever since she saw CavArms' furniture. Since I know it'd mean a new rifle in the house (most likely an M4gery/shorty), I'm thinking it this would be a good gift. I know she'd be all kinds of happy if I could take this to the guy who does my bike parts and have him do a custom PC job on it. If powder coating isn't safe/feasible ... how does JP Rifles achieve their colored uppers and hand guards? comments/suggestions/flames? |
| I had my first bushMstr upper and lower PC'd in desert camo. I havent had any trouble with the fit or finish. I just wish they could use it on plastis. I had to use epoxy to match the stock and hand gaurd. I sprayed the visible parts of the barrel too but it turned milky when the barrel got HOT HOT HOT! The guy who did the powder coat told me there are high temp coatings but he's never done a barrel before, so I didn't want to waste the loot. |
