I have most of the military manuals
and quite a few others on the AR.

I don't have Duncan Long's book
on building your own AR (yet).

Is that the best book to get
for this project?  Or if not,
which one is?

I am a machinist, so I don't think
I will have much trouble if I have the
right tools and references.

I really like "The Complete AR-15 Assembly Guide" By Walt Kulek and Clint McKee.  It's available from http://www.fultonarmory.com  Great pictures of EVERY step, good descriptions, plus pitfalls, tips, and tricks.  And it's only $20.  Good stuff.

I'll definitley get that one.
A great price for a good reference,
especially one with good photos.

Thanks!
