Hi all OK I am a new guy that Will be asking you all some questions. So some may sound stupid
but I do not have that much knowledge of the AR 15.  I am a college student and cost is going to
play a part in how I build my weapon, just so you know.
1. First I am thinking of using a  DPMS Lower Receiver, but I have seen some Rock River for
the same price what is the different’s.
2. I have found DPMS Lower Receiver parts kits can they be used in other Receivers?
3. I have seen some AR15 painted cammo, “and no not like the cammo you see on hunting rifles”
now is this something that I can do, what kind of paint is used ?

Thank you for your time, and info. You will be hearing more from me.

Welcome to THE board [:)]

DPMS and RRA are both quality manufacturers.  choosing between the two really comes down to price and preference.  I have both.

DPMS parts kits will fit other recievers.  An exception would be some Colt recievers.  Colt changed their pin sizes around and I am not familiar with the specifics.

A lot of people seem to use the Krylon camo spray paints.  Other people use Bowflage - which I believe is not permanent.  Never used either product but I read about them here.

Good luck!
