I have a lower 'kit'. ive read that there are three roll pin sizes that require roll pin punches. i only see 2.
which and where can i mail order 2 pin punches and pin holders on line, preferably from a knowlegable/board supporting dealer.
also, the triggerguard roll pin looks scary. is there a reccomended pre treatment to avoid whatlooks scariest?

You can look on Brownells for the punches your missing. Give this a look over for putting that lower together Lowerbuild

As for the trigger detent you can make something up to help you out. i'm pretty sure there's a tip for doing it on that lower build link .

Good Luck

Actually the Trigger Guard Pin is the Easy one Just remember to support the Reciever and Tabs properly , the Hard one is the Mag Catch Roll pin , Go easy and dont Rush or loose your temper Lubricate the Pin with a little Gun Grease before you start the Pin.
And remember to Put a tough Tape over the area of the Receiver where the Hammer will get Close to to prevent Scratching up the Finish.

I agree here PLUS the front pivot detent can be an item that will get LOST!

As far as tools, go to Sears!  I have a set of five pin punches that I have used for years. You will find these handy for everything from getting your fire control parts ligned up for the pins, inserting the detents, etc.  Hell, I have had to replace a couple of mine as I use them all the time while working on my AR-15s!
