I am looking into Building up my First AR15, i am looking one of the "complete" Kits from DPMS, but i would like to know more about their quality bofore i buy, i mailed them several times with the questions i have but have never received even the courtesy of a reply, so maybe some of you here can help me with the questions: (1) Are the upper receivers Forged or Cast? (2) What type steel do they use for the Barrels , e.g. 4140, 4150, Moly, Chrome lined Etc. (3) Does the Buttstock have the trapdoor ? (4) What Finish do they use , Manganese etc.? There is no information except ordering information at their Website. I would appreciate any information you can supply. BTW, long time Lurker first time Poster, i didnt find it Necessary to register before as i didnt have a AR , i mostly shoot FALs , SKS, Mini 14 etc. After shooting a Bushy Dissipator at the Range the other Day i decided to take the AR plunge. DPMS is top notch, right up there with Bushmaster. Most DPMS upper recievers are forged. Most std barrels are 4140. Buttstock has the ALUMINUM trap door. They use hardcoat anodizing w/ teflon on top. You WILL NOT be displeased with a DPMS and their service is awesome. |
